* ECHO * LOCATOR * SERIES
The Echo Locator live music series, curated by Holiday Maker Records, brought together interstate and regional artists to the Lismore Quad for a series of free and all ages multi-arts events.
The series was greatly inspired by the natural process of echolocation - using sound to map, navigate and understand the surrounding environment.
Through this lens the four seasonal music events investigated sonic and spatial orientations of the Quad, with each themed edition exploring distinct local natural/supernatural phenomena within multi-arts formats.
The Quad (aka Quadrangle) is a grassed public open space in the heart of Lismore’s CBD, nestled between the Lismore Regional Gallery, Lismore City Library, Northern Rivers Conservatorium and a public carpark.
The surrounding built environment provided the opportunity to reverberate and echo live sound, video, projection art, installations, speech and cheers across the Quad and beyond through the town of Lismore.
Free tea and biccies were provided alongside fire and marshmallows for the Winter edition.
Echo Locator is part of the Revive Live program funded by the Australian Government. Presented in collaboration with The Quad.
