More than a band, Donny Love is an ongoing social experiment and vessel for growth through music. Blend the music of the Talking Heads with the combined aura of the Power Rangers and you’re in the ballpark. Known for their energetic and ever-changing live show, the band has toured extensively through Australia and Japan, played such renowned festivals as BigSound and Gizzfest, and has shared stages with Thee Oh Sees, Allah Lahs, Homeshake, Chastity Belt, Rolling Blackouts and more.
Formed in Berlin and realised in Burleigh, Donny Love’s musical output to date includes the Sultry Visions EP, the 2018 debut album Sensation, and multiple singles, including the single ‘Run for Mayor’ where the band created controversy when they staged a political campaign in the 2020 Gold Coast election. Their new single ‘Boredom Pills’ is out now with an animated video by Ashley Goodall, and their upcoming second album Meeting of the Dons, is set to be released on Holiday Maker Records in late 2020.
